*** I have so many bloggers that I would like to pass this on to, but so many of you have No Awards Posted on your blog so I think that I will just say that I would like to direct you to my blog listing...there are some really fabulous blogs on there!  They are all STYLISH and I find inspiration from all of them.***
Sorry to be a dead end for the award...I just can't choose!

But I will share 7 things about myself just in case any of you are curious.

1.  I am a child of God.  Jesus Christ is my Lord and Saviour.

2.  I have 4 beautiful children.  Our first son was a true miracle due to infertility issues and the next 3 were miracles that are from Russia.  2 boys and 2 girls...11,8,6 and 2.  I adore them all and am blessed to be their Momma.  And I have a husband who ROCKS!

3.  I love orphans and want everyone to adopt.  I always say.."You are never too old to adopt, unless you are dead".  I know God doesn't call everyone to adopt, but He does call us all to help care for the orphans.

4.  My father was an Army officer and we have travelled the world.  Although moved every 2 to 3 years growing up it allowed me to see the world, numerous cultures and to watch my mother collect many beautiful things which have been passed down to my sister and myself.  Overseas, we  have lived in Panama, Thailand and even Saudi Arabia.

5.  My mother died of pancreatic cancer at a very young age 10 years ago and there is not a day that goes by that I don't miss her terribly.  God blessed us with my nephew who was born on the very same day my mother passed away.  Isn't He good?

6.  I like Lipton's black iced tea and drink a lot of it....I especially like it unsweetened with lemon and adore it with lemon cake and fresh strawberries.

7.  I am an occupational therapist and for many years prior to children I worked in long term care facilities.  I loved it and really enjoy working with the elderly.

Ok...that about sums it up for now.  Thank you again Alison for the very sweet award!  I really don't think of myself as Stylish...especially sitting here in my pajamas at 2:00 in the afternoon.  But I guess no one can see me right?

On to the flowers part of this post...

The sun is finally shining today and everything is warming up just a little.  These spring flowers have found their way into my pots on the front porch and they sure do brighten my day.  All of these flowers have withstood cold weather beautifully...even a light snowfall the other day!

Well,  am a day late, but I am linking up to Susan's Outdoor Wednesday link party.  There are really some amazing outdoor photos on this blog and I really love participating.

Formal Living Room Reveal: Before and After

***Lots of Pictures...sorry if it is slow to upload.***

Hello!  I just want to say thank you again for all of the very sweet and encouraging comments that so many of you have left for me regarding the renovations so far.  It really has brought so many smiles to my face...you just have no idea.  This week, I have been working hard on the formal living room trying to get it completed and I still have a few finishing touches to make but wanted to go ahead and share it with you.  I will post the final pictures another day.   Let's just say this room has gone through a transformation.  I didn't think I would ever want to sit in this room when we toured it initially with the realtor and now it is truly my favorite place to go for a quiet moment.  I still need to do some decorating and hang some pictures...you know "accessorize" the walls...but that will be another post ;) so here it is for now.  I spent a long time arranging the shelves...do you do that?  I moved things around over and over and over...same with the mantle.  My husband kept saying.."that looks good, leave it alone" and then, I would change it...sigh.
Ok, enough chit chat..let's get down to the pics!

MLS Pictures:

I can't believe we didn't get any pics of this room at closing.  Basically all of the furniture was gone thank goodness.  There were large bags of trash everywhere...and trash all over the floor...cat hair and more cat hair and cat smell.  It was reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally bad.  I cried.

Here it is during the renovation process after we cleaned out all of the trash:

And here it is TODAY:

Wall paint is Sherwin Williams Samovar Silver
Trim Paint is Sherwin Williams Shoji White

No more ugly broken bricks...new stone...yahoooo!
the view from the large windows...
These pillow covers are from Pottery Barn...they are on sale right now although unfortunately they weren't when I purchased them : ( but you can get them for a deal right now!  The colors matched perfectly.

Front Entrance Before and After

Welcome…
Well, I had to start somewhere, right?  I’ll start with the front entrance and keep the rest coming steadily.  I really like to have a welcoming front entrance and this one has come a looooooong way from closing day.  Here is the before:

I know, I know…pretty dark..and yes, it smelled like cats.
And here is the after
012
The little coat and hat rack was my husband’s grandmother’s and the hats are my mother and grandmother’s gardening hats.  I think they are very welcoming, don’t you?  I really love all the details in the woodwork on the base and trunk of the coat rack.  The milk jug was found in my husband’s grandparent’s  old farmhouse in Oklahoma.  My husband painted it for me about 8 years ago and we stored it for a while in the garage.  After being stored for 8 years, It has a wonderful rusty patina.  Just like a fine wine…it gets better with age…lol.  The rug is an antique and is from Thailand.  It has been in my family almost 40 years, and the chest of drawers has also been in our family for years…I don’t remember how many but it really is a favorite piece of furniture.  It goes well in any room.
The flooring is slate laid in a brick pattern.
Paint is Sherwin Williams Kilim Beige on the walls.
Trim is Sherwin Williams Shoji White.

I found these little knobs at Hobby Lobby of all places.  They have a good selection of unusual knobs…and I wanted something different.
They are larger than a standard knob…about 2 inches in diameter. 019
Well, sorry there is not more today…but soon!
