A Russian Christmas/Dining Room Reveal

Hello.  I finally have the dining room near completion (just have some pictures I want to hang and they require that darn measure tape and level...ugh.) and wanted to take this opportunity to reveal some before and after pictures. I'll just let all of the pictures speak for themselves...you will also see the before picture and the new dining table and chairs.

Before (this was the MLS picture):

Can you believe they left all of this behind?  Don't ya love that blue shag? and the walls were covered with wallpaper from another era as well as a very sad chair rail. For another picture at closing you can click HERE
We gave the chairs away and painted the table with
Annie Sloan chalk paint.  You can see the work we did on it

We recently purchased new chairs to prepare for the holidays.
And here is the AFTER.

We had all new wood flooring installed.

All of the Santas and Snowmen are from Russia.
A couple of the teacups are as well.  The other blue and white china (lighter in color) are not Russian, but a rice pattern.

My china hutch.  You can see the makeover for that HERE.
Also, an Annie Sloan chalk paint project.

My new chandelier...I just love the crystal balls...they cast rainbows all over the walls.

Wow, if you made it down this far I'm impressed.

I hope you will go over and check out all of these fun parties!
and PLEASE leave me a comment to tell me what you think!

Oh, almost forgot.
The walls are once again...Sherwin Williams Samovar Silver and the trim is Sherwin Williams Shoji White.  We tried to keep the wall colors consistent throughout the home to have a nice flow.

Merry Christmas!

What a transformation. :-) I'm so impressed with the choices you have made and how it balances the traditional with a touch of modern glamour. Wow! What an incredible transformation!!! You did a complete 180 on this room!!! LOVE the new chairs, and the table looks great! The flooring is pretty, too. I'll bet it's really easy to keep up. We have stupid carpet in our stupid dining room, and it just makes me want to scream every time I look at it!!! I'm thinking of hiring someone to have "an accident" in there with a cheap bottle of red wine! :-) Your table looks great! Way to go!!!!! P.S. - I am really good at hanging pictures. If I lived nearby I would come by and do it for you! :-)

Your dining room transformation is fabulous. I love all the pretty Russian ornaments and dishes. My parents brought us back some napkin rings that would match your table decorations. You can see a terrible photo of them here: http://gracie-senseandsimplicity.blogspot.com/2010/12/christmas-2010.html. I love the intricate paintings they do on their pieces.

Beautiful! How lucky they left you the table, a wonderful transformation. I really like the wood floors, in our cottage they had indoor outdoor in the kitchen, yikes. We redid our floors too. Will be your newest follower, please stop by when you get a chance, Laura - Cottage and Broome
