Family Room Before and After

Well, hello!  It's been a while since I last  posted.  We found baby squirrels in the backyard, I sawed my finger while cutting a bush and there were numerous other things...but I am back!  The family room is not yet completely decorated but I thought I would go ahead and post what I have done so far.

Here are the MLS Pictures:

And here it was when we took possession (after we had cleaned up a bit):

Here it is this kids are all in bed so it is clean right now! lol  The family pictures next to my daughter were collected all throughout the house to give back to the family.  I have no idea why they would leave those??  very sad.  The mantle just above my daughter...we found out later was just hanging by a couple of nails!  scary.

We had a carpenter come in to redo the fireplace and wanted something to break up all of the brick.
Say hello to our little Westie, Flower!

All of the paneling is gone and we have new wood floors...

And here it is in the daytime:

Paint Color: Sherwin Williams Samovar Silver
On the other side of this brick wall and fireplace is the kitchen...
couch slip-cover from Pottery Barn...two piece t-cushion in walnut
pillows from TJ favorite store...the blanket is from Bed Bath and Beyond
the view from the windows...pretty close to the same view from the formal living room...

My mother painted this oil on canvas below...I just love it.

I would love to hear what you think!

I'm linking up with these fun really must go and check out all of the beautiful ideas!

Just saw you at My Romantic Home.

First of all, Flower could not be any cuter! She is the perfect accessory to the room!

Second- What you've done with the fireplace, adding the white mantle/trim is excellent!!!

Your fireplace transformation is wonderful and I like the vignette on top. I would have nightmares thinking about how that mantel could have fallen on your sweet daughters head!

I really love what you did with the fireplace! Our home has a HUGE, even bigger than yours brick fireplace. I really hate to paint the brick so something like what you have done would be a great alternative!
