Thank you so much for stopping by!
I would love to hear what you think.
I will give you some details:
Paint is Sherwin Williams: Samovar Silver
Trim is Sherwin Williams:  Shoji White
Shelves on brick wall: Custom made by trim carpenter (I drew what I wanted and they whipped them out in not time...can you believe it?!  Really talented guys)
Refrigerator:  Samsung Counter Depth french door...LOVE IT!
Dishwasher:  New Kitchenaid model...LOVE IT!
And the microwave is an LG.  It was the largest they had.  I chose to put it down low so the kids could reach it easier to help with cooking... ;)  they eat a lot. lol
And it is off the counter that way.
Cabinets:  Rustic Oak
Floor:  4 inch red oak with knots - I think they said grade 1??
Countertops: Granite-giallo ornamental
Backsplash: Tumbled marble subway tiles
Knobs and drawer pulls- Cool Knobs and Pulls-ordered online

My kitchen definitely looks a little more "lived in" now with a few papers and lunch boxes scattered here and there.  I don't know if it will ever be as clean as it was in these pictures again LOL.
*sigh*

The kitchen is gorgeous!! I absolutely love it and can't wait to see the rest of the house! I have a little silver cup with my name on it, similar to the one you have out. It was a baby gift from my great-grandparents. I'm thinking I need to polish it up and display it. You've inspired me! :)

Thank goodness you banished that wallpaper!

As for being handy with tools, just give it a try, really. The only way you'll learn how to use them is if you try and are brave enough to fail (maybe.) I learn from each mistake I make on a project. I'm not saying I'm a pro, but I'm pretty good now.

You must be so excited...it is beautiful! I love it all. We are in the midst of a kitchen redo. My floorplan was good and the cabinets were fine, we just bought the stainless appliances and we are waiting for the granite counters etc. We haven't decided on what to use to tile the backsplash yet. It is a mess, but it will be worth it!

I just read through your entire blog, Kristine, and I am so impressed and excited for you! What a lovely property and beautiful home. I understand your hesitation to move initially, but you made the right decision. The location seems ideal and floor plan looks wonderful. And you are right to want your kids to stick close to home with their friends - nobody will keep a better eye on them than their momma! I LOVE your kitchen. I love the shelves, the brick, the white piece of furniture, the view ... oh, it's just lovely. You did a phenomenal job. I'm actually quite inspired. I moved into my house in August and I'm feeling like I'm being too conservative in my updates. This is my "forever" home and I need to act accordingly. So thanks for inspiring by your choices for the good of your family and the longevity of your plans for the property. I'm your newest follower and I can't wait to read more!!
